This was definitely meant to be published for the 26th or December, so I do apologize for the intense ass delay, but I do hope you’ve had a lovely holiday season. My resolution is to be more consistent and strict with my scheduled posts. Feel free to hold myself accountable.
We finally managed to create a Perrier Cocktail without completely butchering the original recipe! I also have found my new favorite that I keep making consistently, and it actually involves using the cocktail utensils I spent too much money on. What a concept, actually utilizing items you paid for.
For our penultimate week of #5WeeksofHolidayDrinx, we have the Winter Bourbon Smash. I was only partially skeptical due to the amount of citrus (and we all know my history of citrus based cocktails) and jam, but I assumed it was meant to balanced that bourbon taste.
Either way, I was pleasantly surprised by the sweet aftertaste, and the initial flavor of orange that isn’t too overpowering. I would highly recommend trying this one out.
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup ice (plus more for serving)
2 Tbsp preserves or jam of choice (we went with organic raspberry)
2 Tbsp bourbon
1 Tbsp triple sec
2-3 Tbsp orange juice
Orange segments
A splash of Perrier Original
INSTRUCTIONS
Add ice, preserves, bourbon, triple sec and orange juice to a shaker and shake vigorously for 15 seconds.
Pour into serving glass with a few ice cubes and top with a splash of Perrier. Garnish with orange slices and enjoy. Repeat for more drinks.
